Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) concentrates efforts on present issues and future circumstances: envisioning solutions needed, assessing resources already available, and developing skills still necessary to achieve goals. This type of therapy can be helpful for individuals as well as when working through challenges as a family.
SFBT is a practical, goal-directed model, which assumes a person already has a basic knowledge of what would make life “better” but needs assistance in creating a plan of steps towards realistic solutions. My job would be to help guide you through the process, also helping to identify past successes and reapply similar solutions to current challenges.
