You may be getting phone calls from school or from other parents regarding your child’s behaviors. Maybe you see conflict within a relationship, or your own school or work environment, and know that change is needed.
The process of behavioral modification starts by identifying the behaviors that are unhelpful or troublesome, and then learning replacement behaviors. Modifying our words and actions can result in behaviors that are more acceptable and engaging, which allows for increased positive interactions with others. This process is often most successful when an individual has the support and encouragement from family members, teachers, friends, or other important people in their lives.
I will work with you to identify the patterns of unwanted behaviors and explore how current eating, sleeping, physical activity and other daily routines may be negatively influencing behaviors. We will create a plan for change that may also involve further examination of the root causes behind the behaviors. Besides utilizing a strength-based approach to build on your already existing skills and resources, I will integrate behavior therapy in individual therapy sessions as well as family therapy sessions, depending on your unique needs.
