Life happens to all of us, and at some point you may experience a loss that you are not quite equipped to deal with on your own. Grieving is a normal process, and psychotherapy does not take away the pain and sadness. However, if you feel stuck in your grieving process or overwhelmed with feelings that get in the way of your daily functioning, it can be helpful to have assistance. You may be watching your child struggle with a loss and I can help you better support him or her through this difficult time.
Therapy may provide the safe place needed to express and confront those difficult feelings, sometimes with the use of play therapy or art therapy for children (or even young adults!). Perhaps there are past unsettled issues that are hard to let go of, and these can be relieved with CBT or EMDR therapy.
